Straight teeth with clear braces

What has put you off getting your teeth straightened?

Is it the idea of having to spend ages after every meal, carefully cleaning around brackets and wires to remove trapped food? Maybe you don’t much fancy the sore patches that can develop on the insides of your cheeks where they rub against your braces? Or perhaps you’re none too keen on the idea of looking like a nerdy 12-year-old when you are in fact a responsible (insert your job title here).

Clear Braces in OrmskirkAll are perfectly understandable reasons for avoiding getting braces. But these days, since Invisalign came on the market for mild to moderate alignment issues, they don’t really hold water.

Never seen Invisalign?

That’s understandable. They are designed to be as good as invisible when they are on the teeth, so you won’t have spotted anyone around you wearing them. Your boss could have them on right now for all you know.

If you have noticed that some people’s teeth seem to be magically straighter than they were a few months ago, they’ve probably been using Invisalign.

How Invisalign works

These very thin, clear plastic aligners look like mouth guards. They snap on over the teeth. They have carefully placed bumps and ridges built into them, and these press on the teeth to gently move them.

You receive a series of aligners and wear each one until they feel like they fit properly. That takes 7-10 days. You then discard it and put in the next in the series. The average length of treatment is a year. Here at Parbold Dental Practice in Ormskirk, we also offer Invisalign for teenagers. Because they are less likely to remember when to change their aligners, each one comes with a blue dot on it. When the dot has faded, it’s time to put in a new aligner.

Eating with Invisalign

Eating and cleaning remain as easy as when you weren’t having your teeth straightened. You remove your aligner to eat and drink, and brush after every meal. And that’s it.

Payment

We offer payment plans to spread out the cost, and you can get your teeth realigned for as little as £43 a week. Come on in to find out more.
